How It Works [*]

[*] This is just an overview. To get started, contact me and we will discuss your needs in detail.

To enhance a carving, I need a large number of photos taken from different positions. This lets me build a 3D model, which I run through my software to bring out hidden details.

Shoot two grids of overlapping photos.

Move the camera as if you are a mime washing an imaginary window. Keep the camera perpendicular to the subject and facing forward, even if only the edges of the subject remain in the picture.

First, shoot moving the camera horizontally between shots.

Take a picture, move the camera to the side a little (with 2/3 overlap horizontally), and repeat.

Next, shoot moving the camera vertically between shots.

Start over again, this time shooting pictures vertically in columns. Each picture should overlap vertically with the last by 2/3.

Send me the photos, and I'll do the rest.

I will schedule a Google Meeting and we'll discuss the photography and any concerns specific to your project before we begin. You can send me the photos however you want (Google Drive is one of the best ways), and I email back the enhancements. You are also welcome to keep the 3D model itself if you want it.

Sometimes the 3D model doesn't come out well on the first try; I will allow one free redo (resubmission of a new set of photos) if this happens. After the first redo, each additional one will cost 50% of the original quote.
